Professor S.T. Fan
Professor S.T. Fan was trained at Queen Mary Hospital. He started his academic career in 1987 as Lecturer in the Department of Surgery, The University of Hong Kong and was appointed to the Chair Professor of Surgery in 1993.
Professor Fan is Fellow of four surgical colleges and holds four doctorate degrees. His research output currently accumulates to 580 papers in journals. According to the Scientist Ranking in ISI Essential Science Indicators, Professor Fan is among the top 0.04% scientists in Clinical Medicine by citations.
Professor Fan is Chief of Liver Transplantation and Hepatobiliary Surgery at Queen Mary Hospital. In 1996, he performed the first successful adult-to-adult right lobe live donor liver transplantation in the world.
